Pump Up Your Walls

One of my favorite design tools for a room is wallpaper. It’s a super easy way to provide pattern, texture and color to large areas in a room, something paint simply can’t achieve. There are so many stunning papers to choose from these days you are guaranteed to find a bunch to fall in love with. Try using papers in different and creative ways, like one of my favorites: putting it on the ceiling. These photos show some unique ways to use paper such as in the pantry between shelves, in the closet peeking out between clothes, or a big bold pattern on one accent wall. Let your personality shine through, whether you’re going for serious and dramatic, fun and playful, or funky and retro….wallpaper makes it easy!

Going Gaga over Glass Tiles!

It used to be that the most beautiful and intricate tile designs were cut from various type of stones, such as marble and limestone.  However, thanks to today’s technology, glass is becoming the new marble, and in many ways it is even more breathtaking.  Glass mosaics can be cut in almost any design you can conjure up and they come in what seems like a dizzying selection of colors, shapes, patterns and styles.  More durable and easier to care for then stone, they are becoming an interior designer’s best friend for bathrooms, kitchens, bars, and even pools and hot tubs.  Some glass tiles mimic stone so well, it’s hard to tell which is which.  Almost all tile showrooms today offer beautiful selections of recycled glass tiles as well, making it so easy to be earth friendly.  For more information or to get started on your tile renovation, contact our office today.

Lara Michelle’s Eye on Trends

Purple!  It seems everywhere I turn these days there it is…that gorgeous, royal hue that just reeks calm, cool, and collected. I paint it on my nails, wear it on my body, and use it in my designs more frequently than ever. Lavender is a special favorite which pairs so elegantly with sliver or grey. Creams and beiges mix beautifully with it, and it seems that purple & green has replaced the ever so classic pink & green. If you’d like me to conjure up a gorgeous purple themed space for you email or call me today to find out more.
